Good nutrition is essential for kids to learn and grow, but families sometimes struggle to afford enough food. During the school day, students can receive meals through the Free & Reduced Lunch program, but that doesn't cover meals over the weekend.

Dakota Prairie Knight Pack is a program designed to fill that gap. Through partnership between area community organizations, businesses, and individuals, meals that would normally be provided through the school will be made available to families who need them over the weekend, at no cost. Bags will be packed with easy to prepare food and put into participating students' backpacks every Friday (this will be done at an inconspicuous time, so privacy is respected).
