Emily Hurt plans to attend Lake Region after graduation to study Early Childhood Education, with the goal of working at a daycare.
Emily describes herself as kind, a quality that is reflected in her caring nature and future career path. She hopes to make a positive impact working with young children and creating a supportive environment for them to grow.
One of Emily’s favorite high school memories was attending senior prom, a special moment she will always remember. She says she will likely be remembered as “the quiet kid,” someone who observed the world around her while staying true to herself.
Outside of school, Emily enjoys creating art, which also ties into her favorite class. She appreciates art because it allows her to express herself in her own unique way.
Emily says the person she most admires is her mom, who has always been there for her and provided constant support. A quote that has stuck with her is a simple but meaningful one often said by her teachers: “You got this.” She values it because it gives her the confidence she needs to keep going, even during challenging times.
Although she doesn’t have a specific favorite teacher, Emily shares that she appreciates all of her teachers equally for the roles they’ve played in her education.
Emily is most proud of making it to her senior year, recognizing it as an important milestone and the beginning of new opportunities ahead.

Jayla describes herself as outgoing, loving, empathetic, and honest, qualities that are evident in the way she connects with others. She says she will likely be remembered for her personality and likely also as Brooke or Brianna’s older sister, or even her hair.
She has been deeply involved in trap shooting, proudly qualifying for state every year. Outside of school, Jayla enjoys trap shooting and horseback riding.
Jayla says the person she most admires is her mom, who has been by her side through everything and remains her biggest supporter and best friend.
A quote that guides her is “If there is no struggle, there is no progress” by Frederick Douglass, a reminder that success requires hard work and perseverance, even through challenges.
Her favorite teachers are Ms. McMillin and Mrs. Kueber, who she appreciates for always being there when she needs support. She also enjoys English with Ms. Hurst, where something memorable always seems to happen.
If Jayla had a theme song that played every time she walked into a room, it would be “Mr. Saturday Night” by Jon Pardi.
With her determination and passion for helping animals, Jayla is excited to begin the next chapter of her journey.

The students presented the money to Mack Gardner, a preschooler at Dakota Prairie. Mack’s mom and dad are both currently battling cancer, and the donation will help their family with extra expenses during this difficult time.
The student council plans to hold additional sale days in the future to continue raising money for causes that are important to them and their community.

MaRiley describes herself as humorous, which is evident in her interests. She says she will likely be remembered for watching parody movies during study hall with friends, a memory that also stands out as one of her favorites from high school.
A talented artist, MaRiley is especially proud of earning first place and Best of Show in an art competition, an accomplishment that gave her confidence and encouraged her to share her creativity with others. Her love for art continues in her favorite class, where she enjoys the opportunity to draw and paint.
MaRiley says she most admires her mom, who has taught her the importance of standing up for herself. She also appreciates Ms. McMillin, her favorite teacher, who is always willing to listen and shares her interest in horror movies.
Two quotes that reflect MaRiley’s personality stand out to her. One, “If you have an idea that you genuinely think is great, don’t let some idiot talk you out of it,” by Stan Lee, resonates deeply because she has seen how easily great ideas can be dismissed. She values the reminder that even if an idea doesn’t succeed, it is still worth pursuing and believing in. The second quote, “Dishonor! Dishonor on your whole family! Dishonor on you, dishonor on your cow!” from Mushu in Mulan, highlights her sense of humor and ability to not take life too seriously.
If MaRiley had a theme song that played every time she walked into a room, it would be “Baby Got Back” by Sir Mix-a-Lot.
With her creativity, confidence, and sense of humor, MaRiley looks forward to bringing her ideas to life in the world of marketing.
