Dakota Prairie Elementary had a terrific start to the 2024-2025 school year by raising the new flag while saying the Pledge of Allegiance. The elementary has 155 students ready to learn and grow and meet this year's new life skill challenge "Grow Your Heart with Compassion and Health". And, their new academic challenge to learn and know by "heart" their grade level "Heart Words or Vocabulary".
With all of this to learn, we owe a HUGE THANK YOU to many people who quickly stepped up and got our broken sewer pipe fixed and new concrete laid in front of the front door and helped it all happen in two short days so we could be back in school. THANK YOU KOLENDA HEATING & COOLING for quickly organizing the repairs and work and getting us back in school. Also, a huge thank you to the city of McVille and the Nelson County Highway Department for stepping in and helping Kolenda's with what ever they needed along the way. THANK YOU MANY TIMES to the McVille Lutheran Church for the use of the bathrooms all the times we had to shut off water. We are very fortunate to be able to rely on the community for help. You all grew your hearts with compassion and the students and staff of Dakota Prairie Elementary THANK YOU!
