Best of luck to our DP spellers this Wednesday!

Andee from Dickinson State University presented to the accounting and cybersecurity classes about opportunities in those fields. One thing that stood out is DSU offers 1 year, 2 year, and 4 year programs in a large variety of subjects. I've personally never heard of universities offering programs like this. For example, they offer a 1 year meat processing certificate and a 2 year associates in elementary education. Another thing to note is they offer LIVE dual credit courses which means you will learn from an instructor at a designated time who is teaching live. For those you haven't witnessed dual credit classes lately, they are almost all self-paced and self-taught rarely having any interaction (other than instant messaging) with a teacher.

Ms. Molstad and Mrs. Johnson's 7 Mindsets group held a bake sale and a hat day to raise money for Giving Hearts Day on February 13th. Students brought in goods such as Chex mix, brownies, cookies, etc. They were able to raise $250 dollars to donate to Hope Inc out of Fargo. Hope Inc. provides sport and recreation for individuals and families with mobility challenges.

Mr. Slade came into the freshmen English classes as a guest teacher.

DP FCCLA hosted 110 students and advisors for the district competition at Petersburg Lutheran Church! A special thank you to the church for graciously allowing us to use this space every year – your support helps make events like this possible.

Thank you to senior players, Brandi, Madysen, and McKenna, for being exemplars of discipline, teamwork, and resilience throughout the years.

The C Squad Boys Basketball game vs. Park River/F/L on February 21st has been canceled due to Park River having rescheduled games moved to that date.

The Juniors and Seniors visited Bismark on Wednesday. Several of the seniors were able to sit with legislators on the floor during both the House and Senate floor meetings and really enjoyed it. Rep. Craig Headland, Rep Don Vigesaa (our district reps) and other reps were welcoming to the students and happy to discuss the legislative process with those on the floor. They also spent time at the ND Heritage Museum where they learned about The museum director taught them about atlatls and the early bow and arrows and posed with a mammoth!
